Mary Olson Farm needs field trip docents

WRVM-farmfieldtrip-smallIf you like the idea of spending mornings strolling a beautifully restored historic farm and sharing the wonders of the out-of-doors and historic farming with small groups of school children, then you should attend the upcoming training to become a field trip tour guide at the Mary Olson Farm in Auburn. Each year roughly 2,500 students tour this award-winning historic farm where they learn about where their food comes from and stream ecology. The Farm is home to seven historic buildings, a 100+ year old orchard, a salmon bearing stream, deeply forested hillsides and meadows cut for hay. The Farm’s ponies, cows, chickens, goats and cats are on hand to interact with visitors.

First Tuesday of every month

Join us for our monthly 1st Tuesday Garden Care Invitational at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden. From noon till dark each month, the Garden Manager and volunteers will be weeding, raking, thinning and potting up plants from the Botanical Garden’s collections. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned volunteer, we need your help and enthusiasm to keep our Garden looking spiffy and running smoothly. Come for an hour – or stay all day – and gather garden tips and techniques from new friends and old.
