SHADOW (Save Habitat And Diversity Of Wetlands) is hosting weekly Saturday work parties in 2015 to restore habitat on SHADOW Lake Nature Preserve. Work parties take place from 10 AM – 2 PM, rain or shine. Tasks may include planting native plants, removing invasive species, building habitat zones, carpentry, landscaping, trail maintenance and more. Most projects require moderate to heavy exertion, including but not limited to: lifting, walking, digging, pulling, and hiking. Please come with a water bottle, warm layers, and a smile! First Tuesday of every month
Join us for our monthly 1st Tuesday Garden Care Invitational at the Highline SeaTac Botanical Garden. From noon till dark each month, the Garden Manager and volunteers will be weeding, raking, thinning and potting up plants from the Botanical Garden’s collections. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned volunteer, we need your help and enthusiasm to keep our Garden looking spiffy and running smoothly. Come for an hour – or stay all day – and gather garden tips and techniques from new friends and old.
