This year’s Allied Arts Foundation artist awards will focus on Poetry, with no restriction on the type of poetry (rhymed, unrhymed, free verse, blank verse, narrative, prose poetry, found poetry, traditional and invented forms, etc., are all accepted). The Foundation will award eight grants to poets living in Washington State.

  • ESTABLISHED POETS: One $5,000 award and two $2,500 awards to poets with one full-length publication or 20 pages of poetry published in the last seven years.
  • EMERGING POETS: Five $1,000 grants to poets of any experience.

Work must be the original creation of the author. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to judge spoken word, audio, video, performance, or mixed-media work, and we cannot accept these. Foreign language, translations, and collaborative works are also ineligible. For more details and the application please click here. You will also be expected to submit the following:

  • 10 pages of poetry
  • An artist statement
  • An artist resume
  • A non-refundable $20 entry fee

Entries will be judged anonymously.
