Museum of Flight
Now through 1/24/2024
Flight has been a subject for artistic exploration dating back to DaVinci’s time. More recently, artists have used air and space travel as inspiration for creating works in a variety of media. (Pictured here, Artist in Residence Harriet Salmon, who will use traditional basket-weaving patterns to transform aircraft parts into works of art.) The “marriage” of these two subjects provides an opportunity to connect our region’s vibrant art scene with its rich aerospace history and collaborate with the community and work towards breaking down barriers, part of our commitment to becoming an even more diverse and inclusive space.
Art+Flight is a museum-wide, community-focused celebration. Art+Flight will exhibit artwork in all mediums, plus offer interactive mural painting, music, dance and plenty of family activities. Guest speakers and engaging community events will regularly enhance the celebration throughout the duration of this exhibit – check out the Museum’s website!
The Museum of Flight is located at 9404 E Marginal Way S in Tukwila. It is open every day, 10 AM – 5 PM. On the first Thursday of every month, the Museum is open until 9 PM, with free admission that day between 5PM and 9 PM. More info at www.museumofflight.org/exhibits-and-events/
