Auburn’s Makerspace is a place for creativity, technology, and exploration!  It is located within the new Auburn Community & Event Center at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park, Auburn.

Here is a roster of upcoming classes for ages 13 and up:

Desk Block Signs– We’ll create desk signs for home and office using the newest laser etching technology.  High quality woods, stains and paints will make your sign a lasting keepsake. (Ages 13 and up).

Porch Décor– Create rustic signs to make your front porch fun and inviting! (Ages 13 and up)

Custom Engraved Baking Dish – Inscribe a baking dish with a special message, image or other personal touch. (Ages 13 and up)

Engraved Wooden Spoons – Custom wooden spoons with comfy words.  Come stir in the love! (Ages 13 and up)

Kids Décor– Customize your kids bedroom with fun, personalized, layered wood art. (Ages 13 and up)
Friday, June 8, 6:30-8:30 PM.  Fee: $15/$19. Senior Fee: $12/$15

Personalized Wall Art– Decorate your living room with accustom word art 2D sculpture. (Ages 13 and up)

Here are Mini-Maker Workshops for kids ages 4-6. Fee per class is $10-$13:

Tree Huggers– Become a gardener come celebrate Earth Day in the Maker Space by creating recycled paper that will grow when you plant it.  Learn how things grow, and then plant some flowers of your very own!  Wednesday, April 18, 11:15 AM- 12:15 PM.

LEGO Laboratory– Expand your mind with LEGO math and building challenges!  Then, build a balloon race car and compete to see how far it can go!  Wednesday, May 2, 11:15 AM- 12:15 PM.

Dino Day– Become a paleontologist for the day!  Learn about the gentle giants, ferocious predators, and flying dinosaurs of the past.  Dig up some dinosaur bones, make your own fossils, and go for a dino hunt in the park!  Wednesday, May 15, 11:15 AM-12:15 PM.

3…2…1… Blast Off!– Explore the universe and pretend to be an astronaut for a day!  Build your very own rocket and watch it soar into the sky while learning about planets and the stars.  Wednesday, May 30, 11:15 AM- 12:15 PM.

And here are STEAM Tween workshops for kids 8-12. Fee per program is $40-$50:

Cooking Chemistry– Through hands-on edible experiments young chefs will learn about the science behind cooking, the reactions that take place while food is being prepared and what role each ingredient plays in a recipe.  Mondays, May 7-28, 5-7 PM.

LEGO Cityscapes – Create towns and cities with LEGOs!  This fun and interactive class will building our own towns and cities and recording them with our IPads as they go up to complete a group film!  How cool is that?  Thursdays, May 10-31, 5-7 PM.
