300th Anniversary of Robinson Crusoe – Fairwood Library

September 29 @ 3:00 pm - 4:30 pm

Free

Three centuries ago, English author Daniel Defoe, inspired by a true story, penned a tale of a man shipwrecked on a deserted island. The man survived by his wits, his hope and help from a loyal companion whom he rescues. Robinson Crusoe was so popular that it inspired numerous other desert island, adventure and survival stories in literature and film. This presentation explores the themes that still resonate in our times.

Presented by Lance Rhoades, film historian. Lecture followed by a Q & A discussion.
