Artist talk – White River Valley Museum
August 4 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pmIncluded with Museum admission or membership
Michelle Lassaline, who was a National Parks Artist in Residence at Isle Royale National Park in 2017, and then the Mary Olson Farm’s first Artist in Residence in 2018, will lead visitors through her Watershed exhibit at the White River Valley Museum. Each of the paintings in this new exhibit show how water filters through landscapes. Lassaline painted these detailed images in her studio using reference photos she takes while walking, hiking, and canoeing. Locations include the salmon-filled stream at the Mary Olson Farm, the inlets of Isle Royale National Park in Lake Superior, a river in mid-coast Maine, the dam at the Ballard Locks, Kalaloch beach on the Olympic Peninsula, and the Elwha River below the dam removal site and at its sandy delta.
