Meet photographer Anna Mia Davidson and see her exhibit featuring American Muslim women of the millennial/gen-z generation. This photographic project intends to raise awareness, change the narrative, build cross cultural bridges and foster peaceful coexistence which is a universal issue across the globe. The portraits facilitate a deeper understanding of a community underrepresented and often left out of the artistic foreground. Through positive images and interview text pairings, this photographic project cultivates a deeper perspective about American Muslims. In her own words each woman photographed states how she would like to be seen and about her passion such as kickboxing, farming, neuroscience, music, skateboarding etc. Together, image and text create an important collection of portrait documentation of young American Muslim women.
