An Auburn community event since 1919. In honor of One Hundred Years of Remembrance, this year’s posthumous Grand Marshal is Richard Whitington Townsend, Pvt. U.S. Army – KIA France 9/27/2018.

The Parade  will begin at 10:50 AM at the corner of Lincoln Way and Cleveland Street and will proceed down Lincoln Way.  The parade will pause at the Central Square at 11 AM. There will be a brief patriotic ceremony with the release of doves, followed by a fly-over (weather permitting), a three volley rifle salute, followed by TAPS.  The parade will resume onto High Street and end at the  Gold Country Fairgrounds.

The first 500 veterans will be awarded a commemorative medal (you must be present to collect your medal) honoring all veterans who have defended our country every day since the Battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775.  American flags and programs,  listing the units in the parade will be distributed to spectators along the parade route.

There will be rides provided to veterans who wish to be in the parade but cannot walk that distance.  For more information contact: Parade Director Roberta McGuinn, 916-743-4343

The Complimentary Luncheon  (hot dogs, chips, cookies, soft drinks) will be served at the end of the parade route at the Armory Hall.  All participants and spectators are invited to attend.
