Bookmarks and Landmarks at Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive

Bookmarks & Landmarks is a book group event with a local, historic twist. Read one or all of the titles, then visit these historic sites for a program including guest speakers, special tours and librarian-led discussions. Free admission to the museum is offered to registered participants.

The theme of this year’s Bookmarks & Landmarks collaboration between the King County Library System and other SoCoCulture members is “Planes, Trains & Automobiles.”

On December 2, we’re holding a program about trains at Pacific Northwest Railroad Archive in Burien.

  • 11-11:30am-Story Time with Children’s Librarian Lydia
  • 11:30am-12pm-Children’s book discussion: I Survived the Wellington Avalanche, 1910 by Lauren Tarshis (you can check out the book from the library and read it ahead of time). Register in advance for this free children’s program at
