The Book: Dash by Kirby Larson
Dash is a story about the life of Mitsi Kashino when her family is forced into an internment camp during World War II. Mitsi is separated from her home, her classmates and her beloved dog Dash. As her family begins to come apart around her, Mitsi clings to her one connection to the outer world–the letters from the kindly neighbor who is caring for Dash.

The Landmark: Neely Mansion
Read Dash, then come to the Neely Mansion to discuss the book, play bubble gum baseball, sample a Japanese treat, tour the mansion, grounds, and the restored Japanese Bathhouse.

For ages 10 and older. Registration begins February 15 – call the Auburn Library at 253-931-3018.  Children and the adults attending with them must register. Space is limited. Please place a copy of the book on hold through your library.
