Read the book, then come discuss it where history comes to life!

The Book: The Ghost’s Grave by Peg Kehret
Twelve-year-old Josh expects a summer spent in Carbon City, Washington with a great-aunt he has never met to be the dullest summer of his life. When he meets the ghost of a coal miner who wants Josh to dig up his leg bones and rebury them with the rest of his body, Josh begins to realize that the summer will be more exciting than he ever imagined.

The Landmark: Black Diamond Museum and the ghost town of Franklin
Enjoy the scavengers hunt in the Museum, locomotive, caboose, and mine display. Fill out a “hold harmless safety agreement” before caravanning by car to the 1880s coal mining Ghost town of Franklin.

For ages 8 and older. Registration begins March 30 – call the Auburn Library at 253-931-3018.  Children and the adults attending with them must register, as space is limited. Please place a copy of the book on hold through your library. Wear appropriate clothing and footwear for a one-mile hike up hill to the coal mine.
