Engaging Trees Speaker Series – Program 1 – The Cultural Value of Trees Panel

September 19 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

Recent development pressure has led to the cutting of thousands of trees in our local communities. How does this affect the way we see our neighborhoods, interact with one another, or feel about ourselves? Come for this panel discussion featuring Ken Workman/Duwamish Tribe, Joanna Nelson de Flores/Forterra, Rose Clark/Des Moines Memorial Drive Preservation Committee, and artist Linda McClamrock – and join in the conversation!

This program is the first in a three-part Engaging Trees series curated by SoCoCulture. It is made possible with an Airport Communities Ecology Fund grant from the Port of Seattle, the fiscal sponsorship of the Highline Heritage Museum, and support from 4Culture.

Special thanks to the Des Moines Historical Society for hosting this program.
