10 AM – 2 PM – Viewing Stone Petting Zoo – In conjunction with Pacific Bonsai Museum’s Stone Images exhibit, stop by for a hands-on activity where you can pet, polish, and sand stones, see daizas (stone image stands) in progress, and learn about stone image displays. Joel Schwarz from the PSBA will be present to answer questions and demonstrate stone polishing.
2-3 PM – Talk: Overwintering Bonsai with Pacific Bonsai Museum bonsai gardener Patrick Buckholz. Find out how Pacific Bonsai Museum cares for trees in winter. Learn about the various methods for overwintering bonsai, why certain bonsai need a period of dormancy, and how we deal with specific challenges of the PNW growing climate.

- Exploration station with PBM docents who will be working on bonsai
