The globe just endured the hottest July on record. We’ve been experiencing climate fire smoke for years now. Let’s do what we can to turn back these disastrous changes to our climate – collectively, we CAN make a difference! This SoCoCulture membership meeting is going to focus on what our South King County-based cultural organizations can do to ensure that we’re following environmental best practices and planning for sustainable and resilient futures that emphasize equity, economics and health. Our featured speaker will be Sarah Sutton from Environment and Culture Partners. We’ll also get a sneak preview from JC Harris, who just received a 4Culture grant to finish up “Under the Flight Path,” his documentary about SeaTac Airport expansion over the years and its impact on South King County residents.
This’ll be another good one – and it’s being hosted by the Historical Society of Federal Way on September 14 at 10 AM. We’re hoping lots of our SoCo members will be able to attend – and in keeping with the spirit of this meeting, try reaching out to fellow members to car-pool that day.
