Juneteenth Celebration – Kent

June 22 @ 10:00 am - 6:00 pm

Free

A time for reflection and rejoicing; a time for assessment, self-improvement and planning for the future, this celebration honors the memory of the late Linda Sweezer, a Kent Black Action Committee leader.

We will sing, dance, showcase local talent, celebrate our students, and share African American culture with the community. There will be a large number of vendors showcasing businesses and products as well as community service organizations highlighting their services – make sure to visit the SoCoCulture/Greater Kent Historical Society booth!

The opening ceremony will begin at 10:30 am. This is a free family friendly event with lunch provided by KBAC. There will be games for the children and no Juneteenth would be complete without our community dance.
