Meet Author Alison Mariella Désir – Running While Black

For tweens, teens and adults. Join an evening with Alison Mariella Désir, author of Running While Black: Finding Freedom in a Sport that Wasn’t Built for Us, moderated by Tanisha Brandon-Felder.

Running While Black tells the story of Désir‘s non-traditional path to long distance running, framed in the history of American running, including the contributions of little known, yet influential Black runners in the narrative. Désir is also the host of the PBS series, Out & Back with Alison Mariella Désir.
