SoCoCulture Membership Meeting – Heritage Work is DEI Work

May 11 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free

SoCoCulture members and other community members are welcome to attend this meeting. Our principal speaker, White River Valley Museum Director Rachael McAlister, will give an overview of the Museum’s DEI (Diversity-Equity-Inclusion) efforts including their new partnership with the City of Auburn to conduct history-based DEI trainings for municipal employees. This is a remarkable program that other South King County cities and their heritage organizations might consider replicating in some fashion.

We’ll also be welcoming Olisa Enrico, who’ll be giving a short presentation on her work with 4Culture to create a digital artivist resource hub to support and supplement the work that activist/artists do with and for our community. This online resource is in the works and Olisa wants to include the SoCo family in the process!

This will be our first in-person meeting in a while! Because we will be meeting in an enclosed space, our hosts at the Highline Heritage Museum request your courtesy in wearing a mask.
