The Enchantment of Heritage Roses – Soos Creek Botanical Garden

May 19 @ 12:30 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

Rose Lee, owner of Rosebriar Gardens and Designs, LLC, discovered Heritage Roses almost 50 years ago. Her first encounter was with a rose that “graciously covered an abandoned house from the 1800’s which was slated for demolition.” She was able to grow cuttings and from there a love affair grew. She has sought out old garden roses from specialty catalogs, back alleys, and old cemeteries from Southern Appalachia to Sitka, Alaska. Ms. Lee says “the history of the rose is a fascinating journey!”

Bring your lunch and join us; all lectures are free. Dress for the weather since these are held outdoors, but under cover.
