The History of Buffalo Soldiers in Washington

The Greater Kent Historical Society is proud to present this program in conjunction with the Buffalo Soldiers History Museum.
The topic will be the American Lake Maneuvers, first held in July 1904, which marked a turning point in the military history of Washington State. Over 4000 troops form the Regular U.S. Army and National Guard units from Washington, Oregon and Idaho were organized into opposing armies. The two forces maneuvered around American Lake engaging in mock battles and skirmishes.
