The History of Green Valley Road – Neely Mansion

January 26 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

Free

From native trail to cow path to major farm-to-market road, the 11-mile-long Green Valley Road is one of only nine King County-designated Heritage Corridors. Native peoples and settlers arriving as early as the 1860s have called this storied arterial home, as well as Japanese and other ethnic farmers. A number of historic buildings remain, including a barn built in 1879.

Having grown up on Green Valley Road, author and historian Richard Latham has a unique perspective on the people, places and events that have shaped this area of great scenic beauty, wildlife habitat, unique and varied architecture and heritage.

This is a free event; enjoy touring the house and grounds, which include a 1930 Japanese bathhouse. A brief meeting and refreshments follow presentation.
