Over the last two weeks, Theatre Battery has welcomed twenty-two local actors (Sydney Bennett, Jacob Bernado, Michael Carroll, Susan Echols-Orton, Fiona Gordon, Teresa Hancock, Marquis Hill, K Lewis, Giftie Mbala, Sami Mekonen, Terence Mejos, Luna Merbruja, Eliham Mohammed, Sam Neer, Careyana Otieno, Clinton Parrilla, Naleisha Pedro-Rabena, Jim Quatier, Dan Ruiz Salvatura, Eva Sheikis, Malia Silva, & SuYoung Yun) to work together on scenes for the Theatre Battery Acting Lab. This program exists to expand access to acting training in the Kent area and also provide a space for actors of all backgrounds to share community and experiences. We are proud to present this cohort, whose members range from established film, theater, and TV pros to rockstar drama students from Kent-Meridian High School!

The final evening of the class is this coming Friday, July 22, which will include a public showcase of the scenes at 7 PM. The event is free to attend and seats are available for reservation now.

The scenes include excerpts from the writing of Caryl Churchill, Anton Chekhov, Annie Baker, Walt McGough, J.C. Lee, Jocelyn Bioh, Samuel D. Hunter, Carlos Murillo, Ken Urban, Edna Ferber, George S. Kaufman, Rachel Bloom, and Aline Brosh McKenna. The scene study was facilitated by Logan Ellis and Shanelle Nicole Leonard.
