Veterans Day Celebration at Sunnydale Elementary
Date & Time: Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 11:00 a.m.
Location: Sunnydale Elementary School, 15623 Des Moines Memorial Drive S, Burien, WA 98148

Join us to honor all Veterans and celebrate the preservation of Des Moines Memorial Drive, the only remaining “Living Road of Remembrance” dedicated to WWI fallen. The ceremony will feature:

  • Commemorative national bell ringing at 11 a.m.

  • Presentation of the colors by Burien American Legion Post #134, with speaker Chris Plyman

  • Patriotic music by soloist Kate Bysheim and the Highline Community Symphonic Band

  • Display of Vietnam War-era military vehicles courtesy of the Living History Group

  • Participation by the Highline Exchange Club

  • Indoor exhibits exploring the history of Des Moines Memorial Drive

Refreshments will be provided. Parking is available on-site. Please dress for the weather.
