Welcoming Burien

The City of Burien is a vibrant and creative community, where the residents embrace diversity, celebrate arts and culture, promote vitality, and treasure the environment. On Welcoming Burien Day, the City celebrates both residents and visitors from all around the globe! 

Dance and music! Enjoy the sights and sounds of dance performances and music to celebrate cherished traditions that reflect our community’s cultural heritage.

• 11-11:45 AM – Gansango African Music & Dance
• 11:45 AM-12:15 PM – Tunisian Egyptian Assaya, Khailiji Thobe Dance performed by Zulaika
• 12:15-1 PM – Show Brazil (Brazilian traditional and contemporary music)
• 1-1:30 PM – Grupo Folklorico Citlali
• 1:30-2 PM – Caña Dulce (Costa Rican Folklore Dance Group)

At the event, the Highline Heritage Museum will be offering an array of multicultural games from around the world, including Lotería. We will also have Bau Cua Ca Cop and a variety of games that kids (and kids at heart) can play.

Fun for the kids! There will be free face-painting, arts and crafts tables, and a Candy Around the World scavenger hunt.
