World Bonsai Day/Mother’s Day Weekend
The annual BonsaiFEST! is a free, family-friendly celebration featuring hundreds of meticulously crafted living artworks.
Watch live bonsai-making demonstrations, explore unique exhibitions including “Small Talk: All the dirt on growing mini-but-mighty trees,” “Building Wonder: Bonsai Treehouses by Dave Creek,” “Little Champions: Bonsai from the Evergreen State,” the Puget Sound Bonsai Association’s Spring Show, Edd Kuehn’s enchanting tiny “mame” bonsai collection, plus azaleas, wisterias, and other flowering bonsai likely at peak bloom.
Shop for your own bonsai treasures, enjoy delicious food truck offerings, and let the kids unleash their creativity at the games and art station. Located in our serene forest setting of Federal Way, this event offers a perfect Mother’s Day weekend outing that combines natural beauty, art, and fun for all ages.
Admission is free. There is a $12 suggestion donation for those who can support the Museum.
