Writing 101 – From Idea to Book – Plateau Area Writers

June 11 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Free, but donations always appreciated

Join Plateau Area Writers for their summer meeting when they hear from speaker Kate McPhail, who worked in the education field for over 25 years. Most of her classroom time was working with Kindergarten and Preschool-aged children. She also spent several years in management and trainer positions in Early Childhood classrooms and programs.

Kate raised four children and fostered 59. She also was a host parent to six foreign students.
In 2015, Kate retired from teaching and lives in Puyallup, Washington with her spoiled cats, Jake and MoJo. She is a full time writer and has self-published twelve books and three poetry collections.

Kate will discuss the process of writing from generating ideas to plot, characterization, setting, and scene building. Using her books and stories as examples, she will walk you through the long winding trail she has traveled in her search for recognition as a “real author.”
