Date: 10/23/2019, 6:30-8:30 PM
Inspired by Halloween and Dia De Los Muertos, students in this 2 hour relief printing workshop, will design, carve, and hand print their own images onto paper, creating cards, posters, and more! Students will learn about Soft Cut blocks (similar to rubberstamps), linoleum block, and wood block carving and hand printing techniques as well as using a small table top proofing press. In addition to printing their own design, we will have a variety of precut Halloween themed blocks available for them to make prints from. All supplies will be provided and students will be able to take home the block(s) and prints they create in the workshop. We advise students prepare for this workshop by bringing a few black and white drawings or image ideas with them, with bold lines or shapes preferred up to 4”x4”.
Instructor Brian Lane will conduct this class at the Auburn Community & Event Center Makerspace, 910 Ninth Street SE, Auburn. Open to ages 12+ with parent. Fee is $25/Auburn resident, $32/non-resident. To register or for more information, click here
