Date: 11/7/2020, 12-3 PM

For ages 12-18. If you love tie-dye and all things blue, Japanese indigo Shibori is for you. In this class, instructor Margaret Byrd will teach you the traditional art of folding and dip-dyeing fabric to create unique patterns in various shades of blue. Four different binding techniques will be demonstrated (Hajime, Ne-Maki, Arashi, Kumo) using string, stone and wood as shape-resist materials. Students will dye a set of four cotton napkins to bring home as a beautiful addition to the dinner table.

No experience is needed and all materials will be provided. Please note that dyes are permanent, so dress accordingly. Apron strongly recommended (will not be provided in class).

The class will take place in the Makers Room, 910 9th Street SE, Auburn. Cost is $50 for Auburn residents, $63 for non-residents. Register here.
