Hundreds of years ago in Japan, mending precious hemp cloth was essential because of its scarcity and from it grew artful stitching called sashiko (sash-ko). Make a sashiko sampler of common patterns, including the cherry blossom and maple leaf. Learn how to use these techniques to enhance your pants.

Presented by Lisa Keller, Galloping Horse Makers, for ages 12 to adult. All supplies provided. Please bring denim wear, cloth or material you would like to embellish and enhance. Please register and arrive on time -open spots for workshop are limited. Registration begins January 16 – call the Kent Library at 253-859-3330.
