Renton Civic Theatre
Audition/call back dates: 7/25-26/2021, 7-10 PM both days
Performance dates: 9/24 – 10/9/2021
Director Janet Cole Hamilton and Musical Director Paul Linnes will be conducting auditions for “The Last Five Years,” which is written and composed by Jason Robert Brown.
The roles they seek to cast are:
Catherine “Cathy” Hiatt, age 25 – 35. Character arcs from an ambitious, fresh-faced girl in a new relationship to a woman stunned by a betrayal and a divorce that she is only beginning to understand.
Jamie Wellerstein, age 25 – 35. Character arcs from an ambitious guy on a promising first date with a dazzling career to someone who is blinded by success and ego. He is very lovable, yet makes unintentional choices that sabotage his own happiness.
A stipend of $100 is paid to all actors.
Please prepare 16-32 bars of 2 contemporary contrasting songs. Be prepared to show your ability to act through the songs. Bring sheet music in the correct key – the accompanist will NOT transpose on sight. No a cappella, CD, or backing track auditions allowed. Bring a headshot and resume. All roles, unless otherwise announced, are open. RCT encourages anyone who is interested to audition and is always eager to welcome new faces and fresh talent to its stage. Auditions, call backs and performances will all be held at the Renton Civic Theatre, 507 S Third Street, Renton. The audition will be held Sunday, July 25, 7-10 PM, and call backs will take place on Monday, July 26, 7-10 PM
There will be 10 performances of this play – shows take place Thursday – Sunday, September 24 – October 9, 2021.
