Maple Valley Creative Arts Center
The Maple Valley Creative Arts Council is pleased to present its THIRD community mural!
We’re excited to announce that MV resident and artist Jackie Riedel has agreed to design another mural! This one will be in the same tunnel as her 2021 mural, just on the other wall.
Jackie Riedel grew up in NYC and received a bachelors degree in Fine Art with a focus in painting at the School of Visual Arts in NYC. After graduating, she worked for a mural company learning how to paint on a grand scale working with other artists and learning skills and systems that help large projects run smoothly and stay organized. Jackie then went on to become Program Coordinator for Publicolor, a non-profit after school program in NYC that engages youth in transforming schools from drab institutions to ones full of color.
Public art and community engagement has always been in Jackie’s heart. Not only was she one of twenty artists who painted peacock sculptures that were displayed around town and auctioned off to raise funds for a new playground, she then volunteered to paint a mural at the new playground site!
Jackie has called Maple Valley home for the past six years and in that time she has volunteered as an Art Docent and set designer and painter for elementary and middle school theater programs.
