Burien Community Center
Dates: 4/2-30/2019

The Burien Arts Association is pleased to feature the works of Judith Rayl at the Burien Community Center through the month of April. Rayl’s semi-abstract photography explores fleeting connections between humanity, nature, and human-made objects.¬† She is inspired by the universality and spontaneity of human beings, the immediacy of texture and movement, and the play of light on natural surfaces.¬† She uses no enhancement, filters nor retouching in her photography, embracing the impermanence of each moment.

Rayl’s art explores themes of identity and evanescence, focusing on person-hood in motion without regard for age, race, ethnicity, and gender. The moment and it’s emotion are central. To capture a person, a mood, and the impermanence of light and movement are her goals. She aspires to offer an intimate, personal viewing experience and a moment of presence for the people viewing her art.

All the works on display at the Community Center are for sale. Please e-mail¬†burienarts@gmail.com for information on purchasing, or purchase via credit card at the artist’s reception on April 2, 6-7 PM.

This free exhibit is open Monday-Thursday, 8:30 AM 8 PM and Friday, 8:30 AM – 5 PM. The Burien Community Center is located at 14700 6th Ave SW, Burien.
