Renton Civic Theatre

Founded in 1987, Renton Civic Theatre began its existence as a professional performing arts theater from a boarded up old movie house. The original founders of Renton Civic recognized the value of the 1930’s movie palace. The owner of the building consented to a lease, and the building was painted, re-carpeted, and rewired for theatrical lighting. Funds were raised from local businesses and private individuals. The first show was “Yo!,” and the first musical production was “Grease,” which opened on February 25, 198.  We are located in the heart of downtown Renton, but have patrons visit us from all over the greater Puget Sound Region. We are just minutes from Seattle and easy to find. We’d love to see you at our productions!
