Vashon Heritage Museum

The Vashon Heritage Museum seeks to hire a Guest Curator to guide the planning for the new Permanent Exhibition from its current pre-design phase through production document phase over the next 12 months.  This contract position will be responsible for creating a schematic design, design development, production design documentation as well as participation in and presentation at community outreach events and advisory groups in order to implement and install a new Permanent Exhibition in 2022/23.

This position is supported by museum staff including the Executive Director, Development and Events Manager , and the Communications Manager, as well as the seven-member Permanent Exhibition Committee. Significant pre-design work has been completed to define exhibit themes, goals and content areas.

Status: 12-Month Contracted position that is primarily remote work position with no benefits. Total contract amount is $20,000.00 with the potential to extend into the subsequent contract for the implementation phase.
