Sustained Support can help your organization keep the lights on, and so much more! This unrestricted funding is awarded every two years through the three departments below—apply to the program that best fits your organization’s mission.
Arts Sustained Support – This grant is designed for Local Arts Agencies (LAAs) and arts organizations with a 3-year minimum operating history and a record of artistic or cultural accomplishment.
Heritage Sustained Support – To be eligible for Heritage Sustained Support, your organization must be a federally-recognized 501(c)(3) historical museum, heritage organizations, public corporation, and/or tribal government with a two-year minimum operating history of managing collections, and/or presenting exhibits and programs with a focus on heritage in King County to the residents of King County.
Preservation Sustained Support – This funding is available to 1.) nonprofit organizations and public development authorities with a two-year minimum operating history of preserving one or more historic properties, providing assistance or advocacy to support the preservation of historic properties, or conducting programs that interpret the built environment of King County, OR… 2.) municipalities with a historic preservation program established by city ordinance or historic preservation services contracted through an interlocal agreement with the King County Historic Preservation Program (KCHPP). Municipalities should have city staff dedicated part or full time to historic preservation tasks, including overseeing historic surveys, landmark designations, design review, and public education.
