Shadow Lake Nature Preserve
Dates: 7/18-21/2017

Get outside this summer at Shadow Lake Nature Preserve! Teens ages 13-18 will gain experience working in nature, knowledge of native plants and animals, and the opportunity to meet industry experts who can offer a window into the world of conservation. Teens will work outdoors, preforming restoration tasks and learning about the ecology of Western Washington. Each lunch hour will feature an environmental scientist who will discuss their job and responsibilities, offer advice, and chat with teens about what it’s like to work in the natural resource field.  This camp gives a window into the environmental science field and exposes students to a variety of career options.

The camp will run from Tuesday, July 18 through Friday, July 21, from 10 AM – 3 PM. Each day focuses on a different topic:

  • Tuesday – Wetland Ecology
  • Wednesday – Forests of Washington
  • Thursday – Environmental Education
  • Friday – Conservation Careers

Please pre-register – $40/student. For more information, contact Emily at emily@shadowhabitat.org or 425-432-4914.
