Dates: 1/28 – 2/20/2020
This winter education program from Centerstage is open to youngsters in the 4th-8th grades. This class will introduce students to the basics of an outside-in approach to acting with a focus on comedy, drawing from the principles and techniques of Commedia dell’Arte and related forms of clowning. Exercises are designed to build an awareness of the body, create an ensemble, and give students a toolkit for building character through physicality. By the end of the class, students will have a foundational understanding of how to make strong physical choices to convey character and story onstage.
Classes will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from January 28 through February 20, and will take place at the Knutzen Family Theatre Rehearsal Hall, 3200 SW Dash Point Road, Federal Way. The cost is $160 per child. Tempest Wisdom is the instructor. Call Centerstage at 253-661-1444 for more information.
