Tukwila Parks and Recreation
Summer 2019

Tukwila Parks and Recreation (TPR) is accepting proposals for onsite art installations, community art projects and teaching artists for our 2019 Summer Events. Proposals can be 2D, 3D, performance, installation or community based, we have a lot of room. All events will be outside, rain or shine. Proposals that fit the theme of the event will be reviewed first.

Please fill out an Art Proposals form for each proposal submitted.

May 11: Backyard Wildlife Festival, 10-3 PM: This event celebrates Washington’s backyard, theme includes native wildlife, pollinators, flora and fauna, gardening and sustainably. Deadline for proposals for this event only: April 1, midnight.

See You In The Park event series (listed below), 5:30-7:30 PM
Deadline for proposals for all of the events listed below is April 22, midnight.

June 12: Make Your Mark in the (future) Park, 5:30-7:30 PM: Help create a new neighborhood play space! Ground breaking for new park, work party.

June 26: Hazelnut Park Hootenanny, 5:30-7:30 PM: Bring your neighbors and friends for an evening of music, history, art, and a happening good time!

July 10: Bicentennial Park Party, 5:30-7:30 PM: Walk, ride, or run into the park for music and a celebration along Green-Duwamish River Trail.

July 24: Crestview Bark in the Park, 5:30-7:30 PM: Bring your pooch and plan to have a hound-errific evening in one of Tukwila’s newest dog play areas.

August 7: See You in the Sprinklers, 5:30-7:30 PM: We’re turning up the sprinkler system for a splashing-good time and sweet summer treats at the Tukwila Community Center

August 21: Sullivan Center Summer Shindig, 5:30-7:30 PM: Celebrate summer and community with music, dance, and food. Local organizations and resources will be onsite to share in the fun!

July 27th: Touch-A-Truck Safety and Emergency Preparedness Fair, 9 AM -1 PM: kids get to be in the driver’s seat of Tukwila’s biggest heavy-duty rigs, tractors, fire trucks and more.
