Come celebrate Black History Month with the Renton History Museum as we welcome back Global Heat. Global Heat’s family-friendly performance will celebrate and explore the Black Roots of hip hop through fusion pieces, break dancing, and will feature educational interludes between pieces.

Join us for a special screening of the 2016 film Hidden Figures, which tells the story of three African American female mathematicians working for NASA during the Space Race. Hidden Figures was nominated for numerous awards in 2016, including the Academy Award for best picture. The film is rated PG.

Take a Stand Against Cyberbullying

Join the Renton History Museum and Dr. Michelle Bennett for a workshop for parents and educators on the topic of cyberbullying. Dr. Bennett currently serves as the Chief of Police for the City of Sammamish. Dr. Bennett will explain what cyberbullying is and the effect it can have on victims. Participants will learn tools to recognize and evaluate instances of cyberbullying.
