Tired of Black History Month centering around a receding past, Michael Maine wanted to do something to emphasize Black excellence present in the King County area on a daily basis. His idea soon germinated into Blacks Making History - a portrait and mini-bio series that honors the past, celebrates the present, and looks forward to the future. Joined by the South Seattle Emerald, Maine will host a weekly moderated talk/discussion by one of the subjects featured in the photo series.
