The Center for Washington Cultural Traditions is now accepting applications for the 2021-2022 Washington State Heritage Arts Apprenticeship Program. If you’re interested in learning a traditional trade, craft, or skill, the program provides financial incentives to individuals who want to preserve cultural traditions important to Washington’s communities.

Program participants may teach or study occupational arts, traditional language practices, storytelling and other verbal arts, dance, culinary traditions, music, and much more. For participating in the program, master artists will receive $4,000 and apprentices receive $1000. Additional funds may be added to the honorarium for materials, travel costs and more. The program will take place July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022.
