Parents and caregivers are invited to attend free STARS (State Training & Registry System) workshops. STARS is a career development system for those who work in childcare and early education. For more information call the libraries in advance of the workshop. Adults only.

This workshop on working with refugee children is presented by Beryl Cheal. You’ll learn what happens to make children refugees and how traumatic experiences such as war, violence and dislocation affect their lives. Learn how to mitigate possible inappropriate behaviors and other normal negative responses when working with refugee children in the childcare or school environment. Understand the importance of refugee parents in the education and care of their children.
