Burien Community Center
Paintings by Chester Page Jones are featured in the July exhibit at the Burien Community Center. The exhibit runs through July and is open to the public during Center hours, 8:30 AM – 8 PM, Monday– Thursday, and 8:30 AM – 5 PM, Friday.
A self-taught artist, Chester employs bold strokes, vivid colors and fluid shapes to tell interesting and often humorous stories about everyday life, music and dance. A signature feature of his paintings is the use of stylish sunglasses to expose the emotions, desires and alter egos of his subjects. He expresses racial harmony by using various shades of orange as a unifying skin color.
Chester has been dabbling in acrylics as a hobby for the past 20 years. He recently left his 25-year business/legal management career to pursue his passion for painting and art on a full-time basis.
Chester grew up in the small town of New Bern, AL and holds a BS Computer Science from Troy University, Montgomery, AL; an MBA from Howard University, Washington, DC; and a JD from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, TX. His career included 17 years in leading positions in procurement and sourcing in Seattle; San Francisco and Hayward, CA; Portland, OR; Austin, TX; and Zurich, Switzerland as well as work in corporate law in Austin, TX. He now calls Seattle home.
All works on display at the Community Center are for sale. Please email email@example.com for information on purchasing.
