Jake Prendez is a renowned Chicano artist, curator and public speaker, displaying his work in exhibitions around the country to rave reviews. Jake creates art with a specific focus on themes relating to Chicana/o and Indigenous culture, activism, social justice, pop culture, and satire. Jake now resides in Seattle and is a host of the Pop Up Mercado, lectures around the country, leads the Próxima Generación: Youth Residency Project, and is the owner/director of the Nepantla Cultural Arts Gallery in White Center.
Kaitlyn Carr-Kiprotich is an Oregon-based artist and public school educator. Her ongoing paper collage series, Navigating Race and Ethnicity, provides snapshots of daily life shared with her Kenyan partner.
The Centennial Center Gallery is located at 400 West Gowe Street, Kent. It is open Monday through Friday, 8 !M – 5 PM.
