Works by Lewis LaBrashé

Auburn City Hall Gallery
Now through 1/4/2023

The City of Auburn and the Auburn Arts Commission are pleased to present the work of Lewis J. LaBrashé at the City Hall Gallery, on view November 2, 2022 – January 4, 2023.

Lewis LaBrashé describes himself as an Artist/Expressionist. Inspired by the natural landscapes he encounters while hiking, he loves recreating these in his work. Many of his paintings are directly influenced by the time he spends in nature. LaBrashé feels that working in one medium is too restrictive, so often uses multiple media (including acrylics, resins and pastels) to achieve the desired effect.

He writes: “Expressionist artists have sought to express the meaning of emotional experience rather than physical reality…. As with all things change is never easy. Bringing forth new life I liken these to an inner fire, as a volcano, erupting to lay out a new landscape. A new beginning. Being rich in minerals it is the perfect foundation for new growth!  In time it will create an earthly paradise!”

Auburn City Hall Gallery is located at Auburn City Hall, 25 W Main Street in Auburn, and is open to the public during regular business hours.
